Best Suburbs of Minneapolis

Minneapolis, Minnesota, is one of the famous Twin Cities, with the other being the neighboring St. Paul. The friendliness of Minneapolis’ residents adds extra warmth to the cold winters here. And beyond the usual winter activities of sledding and skiing, Minneapolis is also a hot spot for boating, arts and theater, and sports. If you want to live near this vibrant city without committing to the big city life, why not move to one of its suburbs? We’ve compiled a list of the 10 best suburbs surrounding Minneapolis.

10. Stillwater

Stillwater is located along the St. Croix River, just minutes from the Minnesota-Wisconsin border. Riverside suburbs mean plenty of water-based activities, from fishing to boat rentals. Inver Grove Heights is a sizable suburb along the Mississippi River. The area around the river’s shore is full of parks, boutiques and restaurants, not to mention plenty of hiking trails. Pine Bend Bluffs Scientific and Natural Area is known for its beautiful trails in particular. With the Fleming Field – South St. Paul Airport just outside of Inver Grove Heights’ border, local travel is a breeze.
