Headboard Lights for a Bedroom Sanctuary

Bedroom lighting has a huge effect on our wellness and well-being. But are you missing one essential lighting element in your space? You might be, if you don’t have headboard lights.

Headboard lights are a clever touch to any bedroom with modern lighting. As we slow down in our daily, busy lives, lighting is an essential component in our morning and nighttime routines. Some folks might have routines that involve a digital detox – aka no phones in the bedroom, or no scrolling an hour before sleeping. The same rules might apply upon waking, too.

This might include meditating or reading before turning in for the night. So, what can you add to your bedroom to keep it laid-back and cozy? Enter, headboard lighting. Whether it’s a connective chat with your significant other, reading a suspenseful page turner, or meditating, headboard lights are the perfect addition to any modern sanctuary.

Ready to create an oasis primed for relaxation and recharging? It’s the right time to install headboard lights. Before you dive into your options, consider these two points:

  1. Safety is essential. Our bedrooms, and more specifically our beds, have a mix of fabrics and textures in very close proximity. From natural textiles to man-made materials, you want to be mindful of strong lights that could be near flammable materials, including the headboard itself. Remember, lighting should be a minimum of 12 inches away from fabrics or flammable materials.
  2. Look for LED environmentally friendly and sustainable lights. As safety is tantamount, sustainability is equally important. Look for LED headboard lighting or fluorescent lights to elevate your space while being green.

Now, you’re ready to add in headboard lights to your bedroom. Check out the tips below to transform your headboard into a well-lit, functional, and calming escape.

Start with a Clean Space

Whether you’re clearing out and reorganizing your bedroom as a whole, or just the sleeping area, get rid of any excess objects or decorations. Lamps that you never liked? Toss them. Art that’s just sitting around? Hang it.

And if you don’t have a headboard, this is also a good time to research trends and style forecasts to pick the best headboard and lighting options for your space.

Work Within Your Budget

Warm white holiday lights are a great asset that you don’t have to spend extra money on. Most people already have a stack or two of these string lights in their home, and they’re often unused for most of the year!

Holiday lights are timeless, as they add depth and coziness to a space no matter the time of year. Besides being trendy, these lights don’t require any tricky installation. In fact, all you have to do is wrap them around your headboard. Many holiday lights are LED and environmentally friendly, too. And you can add a timer switch to the holiday lights to save energy and shut off automatically once you’ve fallen asleep.

Contemporary homeowners can expand this look with string lights in various lengths, shapes, sizes, and color.

Decide a Single Style

Headboard lights may seem simple, but choosing a specific or distinct style that compliments the rest of your bedroom will pull the space together. Are you rustic? Utilitarian meets functional? Totally classic? Or, architectural? The options are almost endless, but landing on an aesthetic will make a world of difference.

Envisioning a crisp and clean headboard? Go ultra-minimalist or sleek modern so sight lines will be undisturbed and clutter-free. If your headboard has a built-in shelf, you can add under-the-cabinet lights to keep fixtures hidden but functional.

Don’t Forget About Accents

Retro and industrial fixtures are cool yet timeless. Adding Edison bulbs to this fixture gives the headboard an edgy feel while creating warmth and depth with light.

On the other hand, wood details and texture add a different spice to your aesthetic. Find one that affixes to the headboard and is easily dimmable.

Concentrate on Color

Craving something a little more than basic but warm white light? Add a new twist to your relaxation zone with Zen-like colors. Pop in colored light bulbs to tweak the ambiance and light in your bedroom.

If you have smart home tech installed in your home or bedroom, you can even use Wi-Fi controlled Smart LED bulbs to switch up the color at a moment’s notice!

Add LEDs

LEDS are environmentally friendly, safe, and long-lasting. Plus, they’re easy to use and install in seconds. A simple LED light strip yields a big impact to your room, while keeping your wallet and the environment happy.

If you’re looking for a headboard and light, save time with a headboard and LED lights combo. The style is modern and contemporary while being sustainable. If you are looking for a less obvious but energy saving idea, look no further than this modern paneled LED headboard.
