Houston is a vibrant city on the Texas Gulf Coast. People from all over the country, and the world, keep moving to the city, making it one of the largest and most diverse in the country.
Houston's thriving culture has created a unique atmosphere that blends the city's southern roots with a cosmopolitan flair. Also called the Bayou City, Houston has come a long way from it's early days as the capitol of the Republic of Texas. (There was some drama between Sam Houston and Mirabeau B. Lamar, it's complicated.)
Houstonians always have something exciting to do. Houston has more green space per capita than any other city, and the New York Times named it as the most exciting place to eat.
If that isn't enough for you, Houston's theatre district is second best only to New York's, so catch a play at the Houston Opera House, the Alley Theater, or Main Street Theater.
