The best place to retire in Alabama is Prichard! A beautiful Mobile suburb, Prichard gives you easy access to a beachfront retirement without the high price tags found in Florida and California. 2. Midfield

Midfield is a small suburb located eight miles south of Birmingham. You’ll find all your typical amenities here, including parks, grocery stores, schools, and places of worship. To stay in shape, go for a leisurely stroll along the High Ore Line Trail or one of the other city parks. Midfield holds several community-wide events per year, so be sure to check out information online or at city hall to see how you can get involved.

3. Chickasaw

Chickasaw is located just north of Prichard. If you enjoy spending time outdoors, drive down to Mobile Bay and relax along the water. Attalla is located approximately 54 miles northeast of Birmingham. Enjoy your retirement by visiting Wills Creek Winery, where you can try the 20 different wines or take a wine-making class.     We are looking to retire and work a little – me as an Accountant to prepare income taxes and my Argentine wife to get her green card and work in the medical field. She has platinum in her head so cannot take very hot for very long. Want to go to Tennessee, Alabama or North Carolina on $3000 total per month from social security and pension. Want to spend $1000 – $1200 on rent and utilities 2 bedroom. Please advise. Thanks.
