Builders
By 2020, five builders will be offering more than 30 floorplans for families to consider. As construction continues, keep track of all of the new homes available in Mueller.
One builder who has already begun construction is David Weekley Homes. In order to offer the most options to new homeowners, the company will be offering both single detached yard homes and attached row homes. Consider the Rainier, a yard home design with a modest backyard space. This four bedroom, three bathroom home is perfect for families looking for a home to grow into while still feeling cozy. The Kal, a row house design, is ideal for homeowners who love to entertain guests: the owner’s suite is isolated upstairs with the two additional bedrooms on the first floor to give both guests and homeowners privacy. David Weekley Homes in the Mueller community start in the mid $400’s.
Another builder to keep your eye out for is CalAtlantic, which is currently offering 11 total plans across three different categories: Mueller House, 45s Yardhouse, and 37s Yardhouse. Prices begin the upper $400’s. Take a look at the spacious Neward, a yard house design, with an isolated downstairs master suite and a covered patio that opens into both the garage and the dining room; this easy to navigate layout is great for homeowners who love hosting holiday celebrations with family and friends.

Off Site Amenities
Should you decide you want to venture more into the city, downtown Austin is a few miles south and has several historic sites, event centers, and social venues to frequent. The University of Texas – the second-largest institution of higher education in the state – is even closer, and regularly features performances and has several museums on site.
And of course, we wouldn’t be talking about Austin if we didn’t mention the live music scene. Whether it’s the internationally known South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival or a smaller performance at a local brewery, just a short time in Austin will show you why the city is considered the Live Music Capital of the World®.

Several different campuses serve students living in the Mueller community, including Maplewood Elementary, home of the Mustangs. Located at 3808 Maplewood Avenue, the school enrolls just over 450 students annually in grades Pre-K – 6th. Class sizes on this campus were on par with or below district and state averages, which no doubt played a part in Maplewood Elementary scoring an overall B for school performance during the 2018-19 academic year.

Kealing Middle School is one of three options for students in the Mueller community, located at 1607 Pennsylvania Avenue. Around 1,200 students enroll as Kealing Hornets annually in grades 6-8, and classroom size averages around 21. The school was rated an overall B on performance, and received special recognition in multiple areas for the 2018-19 academic year: Academic Achievement in Science, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in English Language Arts/Reading, Academic Achievement in Social Studies, and Post-Secondary Readiness.
According to Austin ISD’s website, students at Blanton Elementary feed into Dr. Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy or Gus Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy. Sadler Means YWLA, home of the Dragons, is an all-girls academy located at 6401 North Hampton Drive. Between 350 and 400 students enroll in grades 6-8 annually. Sadler Means YWLA scored an overall F on school performance for the 2018-19 academic year on the annual report card.
Gus Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy at 7414 Johnny Morris Road is similar in structure to the YWLA: the all-boys school’s mascot is also the Dragons, and they enroll between 350 and 400 6th-8th grade students annually. For 2018-19, Garcia YMLA’s annual report card school overall school performance a C, having slightly improved from the previous year.
Finally, there are two high schools zoned to the Mueller community. McCallum High School at 5600 Sunshine Drive is home of the Knights, with nearly 1,800 students enrolled in grades 9-12. Classroom sizes averaged 23 students, and the campus scored an A overall on their annual report card. The school was also recognized for exemplary performance in Academic Achievement in Mathematics; Top 25 percent: Comparative Academic Growth; and Top 25 percent: Comparative Closing the Gaps.
Northeast Early College High School at 7104 Berkman Drive enrolls slightly fewer students than McCallum, with a student body of around 1,200. The 2018-19 annual report card scored Northeast ECHS (previously Reagan High School) with an overall B. The school also earned recognition for exemplary performance in four areas: Academic Achievement in English Language Arts/Reading, Academic Achievement in Social Studies, Post-Secondary Readiness, and Top 25 percent: Comparative Closing the Gaps.
In the future, additional schools will become available to Mueller residents; the community also has plans to build an onsite school.
